Uncork’d Entertainment is releasing Monstrous, a new Bigfoot horror flick from director Bruce Wemple (Altered Hours). Naturally, this pinged on my radar since I have a special place in my heart for Bigfoot movies. I watched The Legend of Boggy Creek(1972) and thought it was a real documentary. Of course, I was a kid and impressionable. So the fear was real. Now it’s a classic B movie with laughable dialog and monster that was probably paid in moonshine. But through the eyes of a child, it was terrifying.

Enough about my unwarranted childhood fear of Bigfoot. Uncork‘d give us a story about Sylvia. A lonely 20-something goes searching for answers after her friend mysteriously vanishes in Whitehall, NY, an Adirondack town known for its Bigfoot sightings. She sets off with a mysterious, charming young woman, Alex, who is anxious to Whitehall for different reasons. Sylvia soon learns that hiding in the woods is evil more sinister than she could ever imagine.”

The film stars Anna Shields (The Executioners), Rachel Finninger, Grant Schumacher, Hannah McKechnie, Catharine Daddario, Dylan Grunn, Peter Stray, Rick Montgomery Jr., and Thomas Brazzle.

Monstrous premieres On Demand and DVD on August 11th from Uncork’d Entertainment.
