Candyman is ComingBy RodneyHatfieldJr for Movies
Mark your calendars kids, Candyman premiers next Friday, August 27th. That means tickets go on sale today, so get your butts to the ticket seller.
If you are not familiar with the remake, let me give you an overview.
“For as long as residents can remember, the housing projects of Chicago’s Cabrini Green neighborhood were terrorized by a word-of-mouth ghost story about a supernatural killer with a hook for a hand, easily summoned by those daring to repeat his name five times into a mirror. In the present day, a decade after the last of the Cabrini towers were torn down, visual artist Anthony McCoy (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and his girlfriend, gallery director Brianna Cartwright (Teyonah Parris), move into a luxury loft condo in Cabrini, now gentrified beyond recognition and inhabited by upwardly mobile millennials.”
Here is the official trailer which I am sure some of you have already seen.
While you wait for the movie, a new clip has been unleashed, and it reminds us of the basic rules of the Candyman mythos. Speak his name five times into a mirror and, well, you’re probably not going to be alive much longer.

I already have my ticket. I hope it freaks me out as much as the original. The bee scene from the original still gives me supersized goosebumps. I don't think I looked into a mirror for the whole year of 1992. Tony Todd will always be a top-notch horror icon to me. And a really nice guy in person.
