When all the different streaming services announced they would be making original movies, my mind thought of SyFy channel quality. That being every once in a while a solid movie, and the rest were average to trash. But I was overall surprised. Most of the new original movies are solid films, Of course, there are some stinkers but that is the nature of films.

The newest entry that has caught my eye is There’s Someone Inside Your House. To be honest, I could not imagine how many different teen slashers I have watched over the years. But I am drawn to them since I grew up on teen slasher films. And this one has retro written all over it.

The film is about Makani Young (Sydney Park) who has moved from Hawaii to quiet, small-town Nebraska to live with her grandmother and finish high school. As the countdown to graduation begins, a killer starts to slay her classmates. That’s not even the scariest part. The killer is intent on exposing their darkest secrets to the entire town. They terrorizing their intended victims while wearing a mask of their own face. With a mysterious past of her own, Makani and her friends must discover the killer’s identity before they become victims.

There’s Someone Inside Your House is based on Stephanie Perkins’ New York Times best-selling novel. The Netflix adaptation comes from screen scribe Henry Gayden (Shazam!) and is directed by Patrick Brice (Creep.) Also, this new title is produced by James Wan’s Atomic Monster.
