Retro Slasher Death Rink

By RodneyHatfieldJr for Indie

I have a friend who is a big Indy film fan. Every so often he will send along a trailer or some article about a new film coming out. He sent me this trailer yesterday, and thought I would pass it along.

Are you also a fan of retro slashers(who isn’t)? Are you looking to recapture the magic (and campy and cheese) of the 1980s? Well, then you’ll want to check out the new trailer for writer-director Daniel Zubiate’s Death Rink. Wild Eye Releasing will bring the retro slasher to VOD on May 11th.

Here is the official synopsis: A mysterious figure stalks and kills the night staff of a roller rink. And they believe it may be the spirit of a teenager who was accidentally killed there years ago.

The Facebook post for the movie describes it as “Roller Boogie meets Friday the 13th.” That sounds like fun to me. Daniel Zubiate directs Death Rink from his own original screenplay. Amanda Courtney stars in the slasher along with Caedmon Holland, and Alan Humphrey.

Now I don’t know about you guys out there, but I love a good retro slasher. So I know I’ll be clearing my calendar and making sure I’ll be checking out the flick as soon as I can. Staking rinks and murderous masked maniacs? How could you go wrong? Bring it on, I say!
