Children Of The Corn Reboot

By RodneyHatfieldJr for Movies

Children of the Corn reboot has finished filming in Australia. Which is something that is rather surprising considering how many other productions have been postponed or canceled altogether due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Children is a franchise that always seems to keep going. Even a global pandemic isn’t enough to stop He Who Walks Behind the Rows.

Production took all the necessary steps for the safety of everyone. The film is produced by Lucas Foster, Doug Barry, and John Baldecchi. This time around we will see Elena Kampouris, Kate Moyer, Callan Mulvey, and Bruce Spence in the new movie. Every few other details have been released about the movie. But Foster did release a press release;

“This film has almost nothing to do with the 1984 movie directed by Fritz Kiersch, and based on the same Stephen King short story. We went back to the story and free-associated from there. The film describes the events leading up to, and including, the massacre of the adults of a small town in Nebraska by their children, after the adults’ irresponsibility ruins the crop and the children’s future.”

So a fresh new take on the concept of the story. This is a very interesting take on the franchise. For a franchise, Children is strong. Having 10 films in the library of films, a new retelling take could be refreshing. We will just have to wait and see how it turns out when they decide to release sometime in 2021.
